Sirena Sultana has studied a variety of genres from modern dance to jazz to her latest dance discipline: the ancient art of Belly Dancing.

She began her studies in Belly Dance with Zahara of Warwick, RI where she trained in weekly private sessions. She continued her private lessons with Aazura, of San Francisco, CA (formerly of Hartford, CT). Receiving personalized instruction over the years has allowed Sirena to develop a strong foundation and refine her technique.

She has also participated in numerous intensive workshops with internationally renowned Master Teachers including:
Ansuya, Amar Gamal, Amaya, Angelika Nemeth, Artemis Mourat, Ayshe, Aziza, Dalia Carella, Dondi, Dunya, Ava Fleming, Fahtiem, Habiba, Hadia, Jehan Kamal, Leila Haddad, Morocco, Ranya Renée, Nourhan Sharif, Shareen El Safy and Suhaila Salimpour.

Her fascination with Belly Dance has compelled her to share this passion with others. Sirena has been graced with the opportunity to teach Belly Dance since 2004. She is also an instructor on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines International. Her teaching assignment will take her to the cradles of the craft: Egypt, Turkey and the Greek Isles.

She has earned a reputation as one of the most popular instructors in the local area. As the director of the dance troupe, Sahara Sirens, her artistry has inspired students and audiences. Her innovative choreography has a lyrical quality that interprets the subtlest nuances of the music. Her style reflects the ancient tradition enriched with contemporary elements.

As a performing artist, she is sought after for a variety of entertainment venues (see Performances link). Blending glamour and grace, her soulful expression of the music creates a spellbinding effect.

Sirena Sultana also serves as the treasurer for the CT chapter of the Northeast Belly Dance Association (NBDA).
